Every Library needs someone to keep the stories safe…
Deep within the lost library, beyond the grand shelves and beneath the dust of forgotten stories, a rather peculiar little gathering goes about its business. These are the Librarians.
At around 10cm, these tiny sparkle ghosts are the smallest inhabitants of the Lost Library. Created from remnants of the materials used to make our larger O’Little Shine Ghosts, each librarian is individually unique. Their little cloaks, colours and sparkles may vary, meaning every one has its own personality and place within the Library.
There are three kinds of Librarian found…
The Keepers- the quiet guardians of the Library. They’re responsible for looking after shelves, dusting the books and making sure the most precious stories don’t wander off. They know every nook, every cranny and every secret passage in the Lost Library…although they are notoriously reluctant to reveal where those passages lead.
The Scholars- The learned members of the Library. Distinguished by their little bow ties, the Scholars spend their days reading , researching and arguing over matters of absolute vital literary importance. Nobody is quite sure what they’re studying, but they appear to be taking it very seriously. They are responsible for correcting the Keepers when a book is placed on the wrong shelf, or section.
The Illustrious- Of course, there are the Illustrious. The Most extravagantly dressed of all the Librarians, they sweep through the libary with magnificent cloaks reminiscent of grand ball gowns. Their official duties remain somewhat unclear. They claim to oversee the cultural affairs of the library, welcoming new spirits, attend important gatherings and ensure that the library maintains a suitable degree of grandeur. The Scholars suspect they just like dressing up.
Each Librarian is approx 10cm tall (the Illustrious are larger with fuller cloaks) and handmade. They are little pieces of the Lost Library in their own right , made for bookshelves, mantelpieces , desks and anywhere that could use a tiny resident spirit.
Just remember- Librarians have been known to wander.
